Pastor Matt Evans, Director Pastoral Counseling

Matt Evans is Director of Pastoral Counseling for Family Peace Center, Inc. (“FPC”).  In this capacity he oversees FPC’s ministry of Christian Counseling, including the supervision of non-licensed counselors in their practice with patients.

Matt has held leadership roles in many organizations, ministries and churches over the past four decades. He recently served as Associate Pastor at Grace Community Church in New Canaan from 2003 to 2015, and for more than 20 years, has helped inspire a network of men to develop transparent, empowering friendships in The New Canaan Society, a faith-based men’s group, as co-founder and program manager of the Naples chapter, and founder of the New Canaan Downtown Chapter, one of 60 chapters nationwide. 

Matt graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA in 1984 with a Master in Divinity. After seminary, he was named Chaplain at Kent School, a leading private, college preparatory boarding school founded in 1906 in Kent, CT. 

Matt is owner of Evans Painting and Home Services, established in 1972 in southwestern Connecticut. 

Matt and his wife Laura have been married for 35 years, and they have one daughter. She serves with Matt in Young Life’s Capernaum ministry to children and adults with special needs, leading and supporting their growth in faith.

The Evans family divides their time between Connecticut and Florida.
